BRANCASTER PARISH COUNCIL

 

A Parish Council meeting was held in the village hall, Brancaster, Staithe  on Tuesday, 5th. January,  2010, at 7 p.m.

 

PRESENT

Mr.A.Townshend, [Chairman];  Mesdames. J.Sands and C.Borthwick; Messrs, J.Petchey  C.Southerland, J.Snelling, N.Linge.. M.Fullwood, T.Large, M.Billing.

 Also present were 24  electors .

3. MINUTES

Agreed and signed as correct  [prop.JP, sec.CB]

4. MATTERS ARISING

Saxon Field [land for car park/ allotments]– To be discussed at the meeting with Hastoe at a later date.

Brancaster village shop – The owner of the wall, Mrs.Wilson, to be contacted when her telephone number had been obtained. AT stated that the wall was in  a bad state and needed attention anyway.

Seats;  seat at Malthouse Yard. Donor to be asked if “our dog” could be added to the dedication plaque.

Brancaster Community Sports Club –  meeting fixed for Tuesday, 19th.January. 6.30 pm.

Brancaster Marsh Common – photocopied extracts from old minute books                                                 sent to Mr. Aldous

Social Housing – letter from Hastoe Housing read out [corres.9]

Gate at Seven Edges – agreed that a letter be sent to owners of adjacent bungalow[illegal poster subsequently  removed]

Allotments - Work going ahead.  Re letter from Mr. Skillings read out at last meeting, Clerk stated that she regretted any upset caused by the reading of this letter.

Brancaster Christmas Lights – Thanks for help to all inc. Norman Raynor for church lighting.

CS  BCC:  power boat club demands had been dropped.

6.   FINANCE

[b] RWNGC Car park income 2009:  £9,577.10 

[c]  St.Mary’s, Burnham Deepdale [donation]  Copy of their accounts awaited.

[d]  Derelict boats and rubbish on village green, Brancaster Staithe. Mr.J.Snelling expressed concern at the state of the village green and requested that a tidy up be carried out funded by the Parish Council. A skip would be needed. This was agreed.

Also agreed that Mr.T.Large be allowed to purchase one of the derelict boats for £5.

 7.   PLANNING 

1.   The bungalow, Main Road, BS – revised design: objection. Letter from Mrs. A.

      Cameron read out and noted. Also email from D.Loose.

2.   18 Mill Hill, Brancaster – kitchen extension: no objection

3.   Lion Cottage, Brancaster – store shed and stables: objection

4.   Ship Hotel, rear extension: no objection [work already started]

5.   3 and 5 Field House Cottages – extensions : no objection

6.   15 The Close. BS – extension: no objection

7.   44 Dale End, BS – extension: no objection

8.   Old School House, Brancaster – replacement windows: no objection.

9.    Ship Hotel – construction of 3 cottages on car park area adjacent to A149: Objection [prop.N.Linge  sec. J.Sands]. This would cause parking problems.

8. BEACH CAR PARK PASS REGIME

    Issuing regime to be same as previously. Multiple applications to be dealt with

    at the  Parish Council’s discretion.

9.  CORRESPONDENCE

1. J.Butterwick – BCSC .[ Meeting arranged for 19th.Jan]

2. G.Bottom – social housing. Noted. Open meeting to be held in May 2010.

3. R.Seppings – Support for local housing.

4. DBHS – request for letter from Hastoe to be published in Parish News.

5. HastoeHousing – report on Brancaster residents meeting May 09

6. National Trust – request for help with funding for removal of beach debris. Parish

    Council not happy with this request and decision  deferred.

7. R.Seppings – allotments update.

8. J.Birder – parking at playing field car park. Next agenda

J.Snelling: Thank you to everyone for enquiries re his health; Docking recycling tip; boats on village green, BS -  need to remove

N. C-S:  access to Common Lane, BS for new housing. Lane needs improving.

G.Bottom:  Safety issues re extra traffic on Common Lane [housing project]
