A Meeting of the Parish Council was held in the village hall,  Brancaster Staithe on Tuesday, 6th. February, 2007, at 7p.m.


 PRESENT

Mr.C.Southerland,[Chair];Messrs. N.Linge,  J.Petchey  A.Townshend, , J.Snelling, M.Fullwood,  A.Borthwick Also present: 13 electors  and WNBCllr.A.J.Dobson

2. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Mr.N.Linge opened the meeting by extending sympathy to the family of  Mrs.Ivy Snelling, for whom a minutes’s silence was observed.

 

3.  MINUTES of last meeting

These, having been circulated, were taken as read, agreed as correct  and signed by the Chairman

4. . MATTERS ARISING

Boats on village green

 Four boats remained.  Re Mr.Everton,- he had now stated that  his £30  was to be donated to the Parish Council to be used as appropriate.[prop.JP, sec.NL]

Brancaster village sign

Agreed that this was beyond repair. Agreed to replace by a new, possibly, metal sign.  ACTION small committee to be formed [JP,TL,MF]. Notice to be put in Parish News and schoolchildren asked for design ideas.

5.  Grant Applications

These had been submitted and accepted. Decision expected next month.

7. FINANCE

 [a] Payment of Invoices:

Agreed to pay the following:[prop J.Petchey, sec. N.Linge]  -    

 M.Buck £70.05;.; MHB £70.05;

Also monthly DDs:.  Eon Energy £153.23; J.E.Lake £247.50

[c] fish stall: Agreement had  been drawn up by J.Snelling.  Rent Review – To be £15 per week [prop. AT, sec. JS] Stall to be sited on west side.

8. .  PLANNING [a] Applications

1.  Drove Cottage, Brancaster Staithe. Proposed development of 4 dwellings after demolition of existing dwelling. No objection

JH  Brancaster green common lane- verges churned up by farm traffic; rural post offices; 64% of second homes now in this area.

AT  Heavy lorries exceeding speed limits through villages

P.Bickell – questioned  need for street lights.

Anne Rowan – Thanks to T.Large for new marsh gate; new “safari lodge” type building near marsh [ Marsh Cottage]; car parking problem caused by roadside parking at Deepdale Shops

RW  Income from second homes. Suggestion that letters be sent to MP

Jos.Ludd. – Grants information poorly circulated.
