 Minutes

A Parish Council meeting was held in the village hall, Brancaster, Staithe  on  Tuesday, 1st.December, 2009, at 7 p.m.

PRESENT

Mr.A.Townshend, [Chairman];  Mesdames. J.Sands and C.Borthwick; Messrs, J.Petchey  C.Southerland, N.Linge.. M.Fullwood, T.Large, M.Billing.  Also present were 22  electors .

Before the meeting began Mr.N.Linge asked for a minute’s silence in memory of two members of the parish [Terry Mitchell and Merle Southerland]

MATTERS ARISING

Saxon Field [land for car park/ allotments]– Messrs. AT and JP had met on site with T.de Winton. No news would be forthcoming until the new year.

Brancaster village shop – The owner of the wall to the east of the car park entrance belonged to Mrs.Wilson,  who would be approached about lowering/altering this to improve visibility.

Seats -  seat for Malthouse Yard had been supplied and installed.

Brancaster Marsh Common – all in hand with further documents sent to Mr. Aldous and copying to be done from old minute books, with the help of Mr.C.Jones.

Dog Control Orders – NO DOGS notices to hand for entrance to playing field.

Social Housing – letter from Hastoe Housing read out [corres.9]

Gate at Seven Edges – Agreed that an illegal poster be removed from this gate.

7.   PLANNING 

1. Mayes Cottage, Brancaster – side extension. No objections
2. The Waftings, Common Lane, BS – extension. No objections
3. 15 Anchorage View, Brancaster – two storey extension. No objections
8.  ALLOTMENTS

Letters read out [corres, 3,5,6]  expressing  concern  from  residents of Market Lane. One letter from Mr.M.Skillings supported the project.

Mr. R. Seppings spoke, addressing various concerns. These would be addressed by rules now drawn up by the Society.Mr. J.Thompson explained situation regarding the status of Market Lane, which was registered with the Land Registry as being in his ownership.

Lease:

Prop. JP, sec.CS that the allotments lease be signed. Agreed unan. Lease then passed to J.Thompson for signing.

9.  CORRESPONDENCE

1. J.Butterwick BCSC. Special meeting to be held in January.
2. Thank you letter to PC concerning help  re.missing child. [Subsequently found safe and well].

JP  lamps failed at Saxon Field [NCC lamp] and Branodunum

Drain by Old Bakery  - work had been done by NCC
GB Lamp failure at Orchard Close
NL  Christmas Lights organised for Brancaster
[A get well card and good wishes sent to John S.]

The meeting closed  at 8.15 p.m.
